Elizabeth Blondheim reported that there were 216 wreaths sponsored for Pershing County veterans this year and expressed her gratitude to everyone who sponsored a wreath for the 2024 Wreaths Across America event the weekend of December 14.
“There are many to thank for continuing to make this event happen at all of the Lovelock/Pershing County cemeteries,” she said.
Veteran Joe Pierce and his family delivered and laid the wreaths at the Unionville cemetery. Colby Burke and her amazing 4H kids hosted the Lone Mountain cemetery, and the Blondheim family wreathed the Indian Cemetery. The Big Meadow cemetery wreathing began at 9 a.m.
Blondheim is already looking to next year and will focus on making sure each of the 431 veterans in the Pershing County cemeteries will have a wreath. To get involved with the Wreaths project, reach out through the Wreaths Across America – Lovelock Facebook page.
